Disc burner doesn't burn anymore?

I have an iMac OS X desk top purchased in 2007. It has been recently updated to snow leopard v 10.6.8. Processor 2GHz intel core duo 2; memory 1GB. Recently every time we've tried to burn a DVD it accepts the blank DVD then immediately spits it back out! I've tried all different speeds, brands etc..., but when we insert a normal movie DVD (let's say monsters inc it plays it no problem?! Is there anything I can try on my own rather then hauling it in somewhere?! Thank u for any help:)

Look at the guide for replacing the optical drive. If you feel capable obtain all the reoomended tools (every job is easier when you use the right tools).. STUDY (not just read) the guide - many DIYers pull components off the logic board doing permanent damage because they didn't unlock cams, pulled in the wrong direction or overlooked comments on the guide.

Replacing the drive is your only option there are no DIY repairs possible.

Removing and replacing the front glass is a difficult task.
