Black screen, keeps vibrating w/ power cable

Hi,

I replaced the power button flex cable on an iPhone 5 because the button was not working anymore. I put the whole thing back together, but it won't turn on anymore. Nothing happens when I hold the power button.

When I put the phone on the charger, it starts vibrating every few seconds but doesn't turn on. When I connect it to my computer, the computer does recognize the phone, but the phone keeps vibrating and won't turn on. I had a spare battery, so I tried replacing that, with the same result. Does anyone have any idea what's up?

Hello. I am also experiencing this problem with my 5c. I got it on Christmas of 2014 and it has been a perfectly fine phone with nothing more than a few freezes here and there that would last no more than a minute. The problem started when i was at. School and I pulled my phone out of my back pocket to check if i had any messages. The screen would not show anything, but upon further inspection I realized that it was in fact on, just not really working. So me being me, I tried to fix it myself by a force off. The phone shut off. I immediately tried to turn it back on, seeing that I may be in need of it soon, but to no avail. I took it out of its case and it has been like so for hours.y brother who has had a 5c for about a year longer than I have said it may have overheated and suggested to put it in front of the fan for a few hours. I obliged and i tried turning the phone back on only to have the problem persist. Does anyone have any advice?

I was at school and my phone was working perfectly fine, then the phone heated up in my pocket and won't turn on... Everytime it's on charge it vibrates 2 times everything about 5 seconds, anyone know how to fix it or what it is?x

replace by new battery or conntector contact problem

most case vibrate only can be fix this..

Usually if nothing lights up on your phone and screens stays black but it keeps vibrating when u plug it in to charge....It is usually a Damaged LCD that is causing this. A new Front Screen with LCD should fix this 9 out of 10 times....If it does not, then you probably have something more serious wrong with it...

It's fixed! I had to replace the screen. Most likely, the flex cables were damaged.

Hi! Did you replace the screen yourself? Did you need to replace the LCD and Digitizer as well? Or just the screen? Many thanks

A phone that is vibrating with no display is telling you, "My display isn't working, my display isn't working!"

This can sometimes be a software problem—if the phone has never been opened, for example. A hard reset can solve this problem. Hold the power and home button for 10 seconds.

If it's not a software problem, then it could be damage to the flexes of the screen itself—the LCD flex. Replacing the screen can solve the problem.

If not that, then it could be damage to the LCD or digitizer connector on the board. Anyone who has tried three or four screens and then it magically works again—they were probably able to finally clear debris out of their connector or straighten a bent pin. If the connector is damaged, it can be replaced as a board-level repair

If not that, then it can be a blown backlight filter (like a fuse). This can easily happen when using certain replacement screens that have an exposed backlight flex solder joint. Pressing the screen into the frame will cause the exposed joints to short the LCD line to ground and burn the filter. This can also be fixed as a board-level repair.

If not that—you could have drop damage or latent water damage that is causing a problem in the backlight line elsewhere.

Hello i am having the problem with my iPhone 6 to where it is black screen and just vibrating i have tried 5 different screens and none work. Do you think it could be a problem with my motherboard or what do i need to fix? Im back to an iphone 4 now and its awful really need to get this fixed

I got lucky. I was just reassembling a water damaged phone. I also replaced the battery, since I tore it while removing it. The hard reset worked for me. BTW, for anyone replacing a battery, there is a little black strip at the bottom of the battery. It works like a "Command Strip"; just pull it, and the battery comes free. But, you need to replace the strip.

My phone just randomly turned black so I figured it was over heated, so i just let it chill for a little and plugged it in. It vibrated when I plugged it in, but still didn't turn on. I looked on here and realized that people were saying they had to replace the screen. I found a very helpful video on youtube that first says to press the home and lock button down at the same time which is what I had already tried. If that doesn't work then hold down the lock button for 3 seconds, then hold the home button down with it. That worked for me. No need to replace my screen!!!

I had this problem with an iPhone 6 that was completely dead and plugged into a charger during a repair.

I disconnected the battery for a full 2 minutes, reconnected and assembled the device. Turns on and works flawlessly. Good luck guys!

I'm having the same problem. Just glad its not an inferior trashy apple product. I literally have had this phone since like ....dang, right before covid lock Down!! No-- I think it was like 6 months before covid actually.. and so obviously that started a few years back already, no real issues till now.. so if I had an Apple and the same thing happened the probably would have happened within a year ---or something else would have happened to mess up there phone, BUT BU DESIGN'--- so ... I mean, atc'd tho, I guess I got a lot of mileage out of a stupid Samsung phone .. 3 years+. Lol.

So now that I think about it ...even if I don't get the thing fixed ,and I have to git a replacement-- that sucks n all... BUUUT... I mean , that's still WAAAAY better than spending a $1000 every year on some new garbage walkie talkie that Apple phones cost... and, i might only have to spend like 2 or 300 to get this thing replaced once every 3 or 4 years... So now I think about it I'm actually not feeling so bad about it anymore lmao.. I'm just kind of laughing at all the Apple people! It's funny because when the thing happened a couple hours ago I was late freaking out and I'm using my friends phone right now to type this. But actually even with the phone being all stupid and possibly fixable it's a bull and possibly we need him to be replaced I think I'm still better offten having an Apple phone that actually does work really well 6 months In. Ha!!!!

Give it to the "geniuses" at Apple. They will "fix it."
