Why doesn't it play any sounds when connected to a dock station?

My old dock connector was shot. The phone always thought it was in dock mode and not play any music unless it was a ringtone. So I ordered a new dock connector from iFixit and followed the guild to replacing it. Everything went smooth with no problems. Put phone together and WOW it works like new again. Until I connect it to my iHome dock and over sleep the next morning. It appears to connect to the dock fine but doesn't allow any sounds to be transmitted. Before replacing the connector I would always get the message this accessory is not supported or something similar. I tried 2 other iPhones and they work fine with the iHome dock so it's fine, and I tried connecting it to another dock with no success. I have also tried blowing any dust out from the dock connector (didn't use canned air), and used a soft clean toothbrush to clean it with no luck. Again everything works fine just no sound when connected to any dock even though the phone recognizes the dock and the dock recognizes the iPhone.

The new iPhone charging port assembly you installed may be faulty, try another one.
