Card Cover Open Error

Whenever I turn on my camera theres a blue screen and it says "card cover open." I took it to a few places and they said it was the sensor. Does anyone know how I can fix it myself?

Yes I am. I called a few photo shops and they say it sounds like the sensor is bad.

i have the card cover open error on olympus FE. called support and they said would cost apprx 72$ to fix, and they wouldnt accept my extended warranty. I will be buying a new camera that is NOT olympus.

this is obviously a common issue and they are doing nothing about it.
