Do you think that replacing the battery will solve my problem?

My computer won't start...it's stuck on the apple screen...tried everything. Even tried replacing hd. Finally came across the Pram battery in a forum. Do you think that replacing the battery will solve my problem?

No- If replacing the HD did nothing resetting the PRAM wont either. PRAMonly contains information like date & time, sound settings, resolution settings Kernel Panic information.

When you say "everything" you include booting with no peripherals attached, - safe boot, booting from your install disk or from some other valid working boot volume. If you can not boot to a repair disk or other boot volume you must have a hardware problem.
