I was removing the logic board and broke the microphone male connector. The picture is here

. The connector is where the spudger is.

Here is another pic.

I know it is a mic and not really needed, but would anybody know where I can buy that little connector?

A work around would be to purchase a USB microphone (or a USB voice quality headset & mic).

Soldering logic board components is not a DIY project… it's not like soldering a light cord. You need special tools, solder and lots & lots of practice.

I suggest you check with a local computer/small electronics repair shop. Any shop that would undertake such a job should have a source for such parts, or could solder the connector permanently to the logic board.

I have access to professional techs that can solder for me - just need to find the part & a place I can order. I work in the electronics industry.

Are there any places online or shops that I could contact? I'll need to find a place that gets into the details - a "genius" is going to tell me to replace the logic board, so I do not know a local place.

I don't have any sources… if you can't find a connector soldering it permanently would work.
