Why won't my CD eject?

I replaced the Superdrive on my MacBook Pro. I inserted a CD and it's recognized by the computer, however it won't eject. I can hear it trying to eject it, but it won't come out. I've reinstalled the Superdrive and checked to make sure there weren't obstructions in the slot. Still no luck.

Have you tried booting while pressing the mouse key? Is the replacement the same as the original? Is it only the one disk that won't eject or does the drive refuse to eject any cd? Was the replacement drive new or used? Ralph

Replacement drive was new. I haven't gotten the disk out yet, but It's a new cd that wasn't burned yet. I rebooted and tried to eject by holding down the trackpad. I can hear the mechanism trying to eject the disc, but it doesn't come out.
