iPhone shutdown after the apple logo

Hello everyone,

Someone gave me and iPhone 3G that won't boot (in order for me to try to repair it and use it since i don't have any other phone at the moment).

The History:

-----------------

The person told me that the phone worked perfectly but it had problem with charging. The phone simply wouldn't charge, and just to make it boot (since the battery was at 0%) they at to "force the charging" by pluging several times the cable while on the computer for it to start charging (after that no problem).

When I got it in my hand I couldn't find a way to boot it (even with that solution). So I decided to open it. The phone inside was kind of crappy (crappy as in "in bad state" and not as "with dust"). Some cable were even cut (the person told me that she already tried to open it and didn't manage to do it totally).

The procedure :

----------------------

I removed the LCD, the Board and the Dock and I connected them (with nothing else). Then I connected the cable into the dock and into my computer (with Gnu/Linux) and then the apple logo appeared !

What happen:

--------------------

The apple logo appears when we connect the LCD to the board, the dock to the board and the usb cable from the computer to the dock. The apple logo appears. But then after something like 1 minute it shutdown.

What I've tried:

--------------------

Booting using online the power button (when connected to the board) does the same. Booting by pression the home button, then the power button do the same. Booting by pressing the home button and then connecting the cable to the pc do the same.

The onlye different result that I've had was when I connected the cable into a computer with iTunes (in order to try the Recovery Mode). The phone still shutdown but it rebooted by imself (something that didn't occured on the Gnu/Linux without iTunes). Either case the phone is not detected neither by the computer or iTunes.

What can I do to solve this ?

I've already seen the phone working when that person had it. That person told me that she only droped it on the floor once but the phone still booted. The apple logo appears which is already a good sign (no ?).

Best Regards,

Luis Da Costa

What charger are you using? Use an ipad charger if you can, this happened to me today, the voltage is slightly higher.
