iPod 4th gen. white screen after screen replacement?
Ok, so my one of my friends was drunk and saw my iPod 4th gen. charging on the wall and picked it up and chucked it. The screen shattered, but the touch still worked and stuff. I looked up the price of sending it to apple for repairs and I thought it was ridiculous. So I ordered a new screen to just replace it myself. I got the screen but as I was trying to connect one of the cords, it snapped. So I ordered a new one and was extra careful that time. So I got the screen all attached and I turned it on before putting it all back together to test it. The lock screen came up, but the touch wasn't working. I double checked the wires that have to plug in but it still didn't work. So I thought maybe it was the protector on the back of the screen (the LCD screen I think) and I pulled it off. As soon as I did that, the screen faded to the white screen of death. I quickly put the protector back on. It was still on the white screen of death so I just put the cover back on the battery and motherboard and closed it without glue. I tried a soft reset but when I do that it just shuts it off. And when I try a hard reset, (still on the white screen) It seems to activate the IPod voice control. The voice control will say "no match found" or it'll start playing my music, and other various voice command options. It's all very weird. I even tried plugging it into Itunes. I would try a restore, but I really don't want to loose any data, and when I try backing it up it says I have to enter my passcode on my IPod which is clearly not an option. I really don't wan to loose my data, but I need help. Could it have been a faulty screen? I ordered it off amazon.
Is this a good question?
