USB in MBP is not working

My usb sockets are not working,

I have tried every usb thing I have, by WD hdd's all just blink rapidly, and flash driver just blink, also, rechargeable items i.e. knog bike lights don't charge fully over night even!

Is there a repair possible?

I have tried SMC and PRAM reboots and nothing has happened!

does a failing battery effect this?

Do you have access to a powered USB hub? Try connecting it to your systems USB port and put the devices onto the hub. Do they work then? If so your USB power services are either not powerful enough for the device/s you have plugged in or the fuse link has blown for some reason. Is this happening on one or more USB ports?

You may want check out your devices because one could have blown the fuse link, also static discharge could have done you in as well here.

If the Hub works you may want to live with it, otherwise you'll either need to bring in your system to an Apple authorized service center for them to replace the fuse link/s or if you have the skills on soldering SMT devices replace the fuses your self. I must caution you this is not a beginners project.
