Water Damage: Replaced Top Case. Power Button Not Working, Now What?

I have a MacBook Pro 13” Mid 2010 that sustained water damage. I cleaned the board and replaced the top case as recommended in the post to my original problem. The top case came with the speakers, subwoofer, and the trackpad.

The MBP works now EXCEPT (you all knew this was coming) for the power button and the subwoofer.

What I did: I checked the ribbon cable and it seems fine. Just to double check, I disconnected and reconnected it. I also tried to reset the SMC per suggestions in ifixit.com posts. I followed the instructions here

I did the above procedures twice.

Still no luck. I can’t use the power button to turn the MBP off or on. I keep having to jump start it. I hope this is not a permanent thing.

Update

I contacted the seller and am returning the top case for a full refund. I have located another replacement for it for the same price as the first one I bought that includes a two year warranty from square trade. Will keep you all posted.

Where did the replacement part come from? You should be talking with that vendor (was it new or used/like new)?
