Is my audiojack broken?

Hello,

I hope anyone can give me some information.

I replaced my girlfriends iphone 4 power button, the cable not the silver thing.

My first iphone repair :D

I did not removed the lcd so I was sure i would not break it while removing it.

But this had the consequence that i was able to unscrew the right screw that holds the lock button in place but i was not able to replace it.

So I did left out that screw.

Now my girlfriend says her iphone jack is not working anymore.

The iphone does not switch to headset when connected.

Can someone help me, did i damage a part or does the screw have any effect on it?

Thank you

(Sorry for the bad english)

I believe what may have happened is that being your first repair you may have misjudged the plugs being plugged in. Because the headphone jack and the Volume buttons are on the same flex, troubleshoot if the buttons work or not, if they dont then I suggest replacing the headphone jack flex. If the buttons do work fine, then id take a q-tip soaked in alcohol (enough for cleaning) and rub it inside the headphone jack. Let it dry adequately and see if it provides any difference.
