Battery kind of starts charging and then indicates no battery

Got this mac as a gift with what i thought a dead battery. Fortunately battery entered exchange program and now i have a new battery. Placed it in and for like 30sec shows the charging time on calculating and then changes to no battery. Or when placed on percentage shows 27% or 28% and then no battery or some times goes up too 100% in seconds and then no battery or when disconnected before no battery G4 dies. And with the connection the male part at the beginning starts going orange to green back and forth during the time the indicator shows the battery and when no battery it just stays on green.

I have tried the PMU reset and with the lap off the male connector goes from green to orange for like 5 min and then back to green.

I have left it connected all night and still no charge.

If you just got the battery from Apple, call them with the case/order number and tell them what it is doing. They may have a quick solution. My personal thoughts is that you need to remove the battery and see if the conectors are ok and not corroded or Damaged. That's based on the coming and going of battery connection. Let us know what you see or find out from Apple.
