iPod touch home button not working

So I replaced my iPod touch 4G screen because it broke, I installed a red one and it's completely fine, the problem is my home button, when I click it with the home button it doesn't register, but when I lift up the screen and move the home button and use my finger nail to click it, it works fine. When I use the button I don't hear the actual click, but with my finger I hear the click. Thanks
