Yes this is the scaler chip or the display chip overheating internally and if you get this you will need to send it back in to get it fixed or what you can do is use a good repair guide to fix it yourself.

Hhmm... Could be a number of different problems, depending on your set up. First and most obvious, is your TV on the right input i.e. Input 1, HDMI, component 1, etc? Do you have your xbox 360 first go into a surround sound box or anything else like that (my set up is that my xbox is plugged into my surround sound then I ran a just the yellow cable to an input on the tv)? Did it just start doing this or has it done this before? Do you get the RRoD?

I fixed a few of these... Your issue is more than likely to be with the graphics chip. Easy way to tell if this is your issue to open up your Xbox360 and apply downward pressure to the graphics chip when turning on your 360. This doesnt always work!! The only two ways to fix it are a: X-Clamp (google it) or b: get the graphics chip re-flowed.

All the best

if its the gpu just give it a good reflow or reball. id recommend a reball because it will be like the xbox came right out of the box.

oh, make sure when they reball they uselead solderballs.

If its hot in the back, you might need it to cool down for a while.

If it's still hot in the back of your console after cooling down, you need to take it to a trusted device repair place and get it fixed.

I'm hoping this works.
