Battery replacement is done except something is not working.

I have recently fixed my iPhone 4S months ago (around since March 2013) from water damage. I didn't turn it on but instead I just cleaned it up first and tested it with my friend's battery and it works. I didn't have money that time to buy a new battery so I laid it aside until I bought one.

After I have bought the battery and installed it, I had it charged but here's the odd thing:

- When I plugged the iPhone to a charger... I do not see a battery charging icon but instead an Apple logo on startup but turns off after a second or two.

- Without the battery, I tried plugging in the charger... The apple logo shows the same way.

- I tested the battery I bought on my friend's iPhone 4S... It works. Battery has no problem.

- I tested my friend's battery on my iPhone this time, it doesn't show signs of life.

This didn't happen before because I was able to have a charge icon from my friend's battery.

Did I miss something?

Good chance that the phone corroded while it was in storage. Remaining water, although not a problem at the moment given time will raise the humidity inside the phone. Which can cause damage over time.

So, even if I cleaned it with a solution (which of course evaporates the water)... It happens that the chemical likely corroded the components inside the phone?

Maybe, giving these devices time to lay around usually isn't good. It might be worth taking the phone down and closely inspecting the board to see if it shows corrosion.
