SSD in optical drive or main bay, what is faster?

I read in many forums about discussions where to put the SSD and where to put the HDD.

Will the SSD run faster when having it in the main bay instead of the optical drive?

THerefore the HDD would be placed in the HDD, where it is not protected as good in terms of shocks.

The main bay has a faster BUS speed. If you are having trouble, the hard drive cable fails often in the machine. Reference this question: Using new hard drive cable in older machines 821-1480-A

Thank you for your message mayer.

What do you recommend then:

either placing the hdd in the optical drive and replace the cable and place th ssd in the main bay?

Or just echange ssd and optical drive?

What would be the proximate speed difference?

Thanks!
