Do you mean that the computer doesn't start or is the iBook running and goes out when connected?

The Apple 45w AC adapter is perfectly compatible with the iBook G4 12" 1.33ghz.

First try to reset the PMU, PRAM, etc. If that doesn't work then you could have a DC in board issue. Does the iBook powers when using a charged battery ? Another non powering cause could be related to the top case power switch (faulty switch or non connected to the logic board). If you can't power up from the AC adapter or from a charged battery then take off the top case and try to power the machine by tripping the two pins inside the power switch socket. If the iBook doesn't boot then the DC in board or the logic board is faulty. If the iBook boots then the top case (power switch) has a problem. BTW, if you open the iBook you might check the DC in board cable connection to the logic board. The connector is located under the logic board at the top center.

Is the charger the correct wattage charge?

If it isn't that could be a problem - you could use a 65W or 85W charger on a 45W machine but NOT power a 65W or 85W machine with a 45W charger.

Or it could be the DC in / battery charger mini boards.

Good Luck,

N.
