Which Logicboard is compatible?

I need to replace the logicboard of a Macbook 13" T7300 2.0 Ghz A1181 .

Which label defines a series ?

Is it the generation e.g 2.1, 3.1...

or the label on the logicboard like (820-2279-A)?

As far as i understand i can only use logicboards of the 3.1 series with T7300/T7500 CPUs (820-2279-A).

Am i right?

The generation. As a rule of thumb you can swap boards between series of a given year. The i5 and i7 boards, for example, are "custom builds" of the i3 board. Take care to check the displays - some of the graphics chips and displays are different. EveryMac.com is an excellent source to find out about builds and even do multiple side by side comparisons of machines.
