Make sure you are using a Samsung official charger that provides enough Amps to the tablets. Tablets draw more power than phones do. It may also have a bad charge port. If the port is loose or damaged it can have an inconsistent connection and will charge and then stop.

Frank, you need to try a factory reset. Remember, a factory reset will erase all data and apps from the tablet! Back up any important data (Pictures, music, etc.) to your PC before reseting. Also, get an app called "Malwarebytes" from the play store. It will scan for malware and eliminate it. Do that first. Hope this helps!

Who downvoted this! It is totally valid! If I saw someone else post it, I would have upvoted it!

@thethirdtwin, That still is not a good reason for a downvote. There have been older questions than this that I have given the correct answer to. Downvotes are for the downright wrong. If you don't believe me, take it from @oldturkey03 himself.

@pccheese @thethirdtwin we do answer old/older questions when it is deemed appropriate and a valid question. It has to have value for somebody who may be looking for a similiar problem on a similar device.

Let's not get into a deeper issue with downvoting. I have always advocated that we should limit downvotes to blatantly wrong, misleading or malicious answers. That does not mean it is the gospel but it will help to create a cohesive, respected group of people that provide answers. For as long as it does not turn into bullying and flaming, it is okay to differ in opinions and disagree with certain answers.

@thethirdtwin, it was wrong of me to accuse you of downvoting my answer. You have your own rights to downvote freely. I apologise.

The battery may have aged or is in bad condition. Try replacing the battery.

If that isn’t the problem try checking your apps, charger and charger ports
