The sound is integrated to the logic board (as is video). You might find a replacement board, or, someone who can rework the board (that's a very advanced DIY project). IMO this is more likely to be a RAM or HD failing/ not enough free space issue. Try it with no other applications running other than iTunes or your Video Player.
