What part is this, please?

Greetings,

A wire came out the backlight inverter plug, burned a part on the logic board, and the backlight will not come on. The computer is working otherwise.

It is this motherboard.

Thank you for the updated picture. Yes, that is the part that I referred to in my original answer.

Charles Kensington, the burned part is reference designator L9003 which is a 120OHM-1.5A 0402-LF package EMI Filter Bead. Mouser.com , as well as many other places, has those. Part number at Mouser is 81-BLM15EG121SN1D. Hope this helps, good luck.

the right is a bit trickier. You can see the solder pad as well as some left over solder form the original installation. Solder to that. Yes, these are very difficult repairs and not recommended for the DIY'er unless you have some good tools and experience.

Thanks. I replaced the picture with one of my actual logic board. I am not sure how to connect the part because it has two connections, one left and one right, but on the logic board there seems to be a third brass colored circular connection below. What is that? I can not find a higher enough resolution picture of an undamaged logic board to see what it is supposed to look like.

Charles Kensington, that is a test point. The filter just solders across the left and right solder pad.

Hi again. I can see the traces the left side commects to - the two traces you pointed to, correct? But I can't tell what trace the right side connects to. Where is it? Everything is so close together I need to be careful to get the connections right. Thanks.

The brass colored ring below which you indicate is left over solder, you said was a test point.

Does either the left side or contact that? It looks like both do, in which case it would be a short. I am trying to figure out where the right solder pad leads.

Does the left solder pad connect to that ring? Does the right solder pad connect to that ring?

....testpoint is to the left of your image. Check the added image on where you need to solder the part to. the original image I posted show the location with the top two yellow arrows.
