So when i press the power button on my mac it will turn on for a few seconds with just black screen and then power will shut on and off by itself and then after it does then fan will run and only the sleep light is on. How do i fix this and what is the problem

Try holding the button for a good 30 sec's to see if you can get it out of sleep mode (if that is the condition). Then try plugging your system in for a while is the Mag-Safe green or amber?
