Well, we can sometimes raise the dead here ;-} Are you up to trying to recover your system?

First you'll need to collect a few things:

  • A bottle of distilled water (not tap or spring)
  • A bottle of isopropyl alcohol 85% or better (the better if you can)
  • Cotton swabs (Q-Tips)
  • The needed tools and ESD mat/wrist strap to open your system

Follow the IFIXIT guide to take the logic board out of your system and as you do note any wet areas (stains) on either side. Using the distilled water carefully wipe the surfaces down then go over the areas again with the isopropyl alcohol. Make sure to take care here when scrubbing the logic board as the components can be pulled off if you snag them or scrub to hard. If you see any bad areas take a hires picture so we can review (dirty and cleaned). Don't forget to look around the case area and keyboard for spots.
