Accord v6 coupe 98 tailights fail?

Hi guys! I have a 98 Accord coupe 2dr which gives me a fail on the instrument panel with the brake light. When I turn it on is not on but as soon as I press the brake pedal it goes on the funny light (located close to the doors in the instrument panel). I am accually missing two bulbs in the taillights (the large bar) which are the two red located close to the rear lights but I tried replacing but no luck. Any idea?

Options

check for corrosion in the socket of the lights in question. if so a little wd-40 and a wire brush

will do it. check the fuses as well. also ive seen the wires get knocked off the back of the socket from overloading the trunk. check for anything loose or missing by comparing the two

sides(lft lights vs. rght).

last but not least did you put the correct bulbs in when you replaced them?
