Green power adaptor MacBook won't turn on. No lights on battery Solved

I had my laptop plugged in all night and believed it to be fully charged. The light was green. I unplugged it and within a minute it went to sleep and wouldn't wake up, like it does when the battery dies.

I plugged it back in and the light was amber for a few minutes then turned green. It still wouldn't turn on.

I held the power button to shut it down.

I tried unplugging it, removing the battery, pressing the power button for 5 seconds then returning the battery and power cords, and still nothing.

The battery I have is not by apple, and I've had issues with the % being accurate in the display in the past. And the low battery warning never pops up for me anymore.

There are no lights on the battery. When I push the button on the battery all the lights flash, then go dark again.

Any ideas?

No, it wouldn't. I took it to the Genius Bar and they checked all the hardware. It was just the battery. It stopped holding a charge. I'm not sure why it wouldn't start up without the battery. After he installed the new battery it works fine.

Thanks for responding. :)
