Screen turns off and wont come back on?

I just got this 20" iMac A1224 a few days ago.

it powers on and works just fine. But, after letting the screen go to sleep like screen saver after awhile, it wont turn back on. The screen goes black and I have to unplug it and let it set for a few minutes to get it to boot back up and have the screen on.

It seems to be taking less and less time before it turns to black screen. Music still plays and such. What could this be?

I haven't found anything besides possibly a loose video card in the forums. Any advice or anyone dealt with this?

See if you can shine a flash light at an angle to the display. Do you see a faint image of your desktop and what it had displayed before the screen goes out? If you do your backlight is going. This unit uses CFL's and it could be them or the power inverter. If you can connect an external display does it work even when the iMac display goes out? If it does then you know the display it self has a problem Vs the GPU.
