Lcd is blank but work on external moniter

when i trun on MacBook Pro its just give a beep, and there is nothing happen at lcd the front light is on ,lcd is just blank, black, no light, but when i used external moniter there is no beep and works fine at external moniter , please give great suggestion

First try turning up the brightness from the keyboard F2 and from the display system preference while looking at it from the external display. Then reset the SMC also known as the System Management Controller, and also zap the PRAM.. if that doesn't work your going to have too , troubleshoot the LCD panel and verify cable connections to the inverter and LCD. it's good that the External Display is showing that the laptop is functioning at least your taking the Logic board out of the mix.

I don't know if that fits to the MacBook, but on other notebooks there is a function key so you can toggle between "LCD only", "LCD and external Monitor" and "only external monitor". Maybe yours is set to external only.

Another possible reason would be a BIOS setting for "primary display", if this is set to something like "external monitor" or a not valid setting it might show this behavior.

At last, as an external monitor works, it could be a damaged display.
