Do I need new adhesive for iPad mini logic board and battery?

A friend gave me his broken mini (shattered screen) and I have the replacement front panel w/digitizer, IC and and home button shipping. This part comes with new adhesive strips.

The corner of the unit was bent in, and the case has some scratches and marks so I figured while I've got it open, I might as well transplant the guts into a new rear housing as well. I found a rear housing for 30 bucks online. So, basically I got a nearly brand new 1 gen Ipad mini for $117 plus the fun of taking it apart.

My question is when I (carefully) heat and remove the logic board and battery, do I need to have some kind of adhesive strip ready to install into the new housing, or will the old adhesive on these two stick with a little heat and pressure applied? Also, think I'll be able to reuse most of the old tape if I'm careful?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You can reuse the adhesive! Just make sure that the adhesive comes up with the battery and the logic board. If the adhesive sticks to the frame you can still transplant it to the new rear case, but it will be a little harder to keep the strips from bunching up in areas.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes. The iPad Mini can be a challenging repair!

I'm glad you got a part with the IC connector already soldered on.
