Why does my iPhone5 connect to wifi but not the cellular network?
I can use my phone for data but cannot connect to the network to make calls

You'll need to talk with your cellar provider you may have a bad SIM card or you need to update your plan. Best to visit one of their store fronts with your phone in hand.
