Whats the function of the cable going to the inverter from the LCD


what the function of that little flat cable that comes from lcd and connects to the inverder board ?

what could happen if the cable is not connected ?

This version of the iMac has a LED backlight for the LCD (Vs CFL's).

The LED Driver board (not inverter) the power for the backlight LED's also supplies the vertical sync for the LCD via the cable.
