No audio from headphone jack; distorted audio through dock

I was using my iPhone as a tone generator to aid in diagnosing my home amplifier. I think I was outputting a 1000hz sine wave with the volume at 100% when the output died. Now I get no audio, only scratchy noise, out of my headphone jack. When I have my iPhone in an iHome dock, the audio from the iHome is distorted also.
