water leaks only in front of machine

90SeriesPlus model 110.28932790. During a wash cycle (appears to be during spin) we get a puddle on the floor - front center of the machine, if I tip the machine forward the puddle is isolated to the front of the machine (we actually push a washrag just under the front center to absorb the water), noticed the foam shroud that is stapled around the top of the drum has slight rips in it, could that be the issue? And if so is that repairable/replaceable and what would be the procedure? Is there another possible cause?

ISSUE RESOLVED --- the water/drain pump was leaking where the motor shaft entered unit, the unit is right in the front center which was where the puddle would show up, replaced the pump an all is good.

Here's the seal part: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/T...

Tub Seal Kit

If the washer is leaking water the tub seal might have a tear or rip and is letting water leak past. The tub seal can be replaced. The tub bearing often gets damaged when the seal leaks. consider replacing the tub bearing along with the tub seal. This is usually a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer.

Tub Spin Seal

Tub Seal

If the washer is leaking water the tub seal might have a tear or rip and is letting water leak past. The tub seal can be replaced. When the tub seal fails water gets into the tub bearings and usually causes the bearings to go bad also. It is a good idea to replace the tub bearings with the new tub seal. This is usually a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer.

Thanks for quick reply Mayer. I reviewed the tube seal video and don't believe its the issue because the water only leaks in the front center (in fact we put a folded hand towel down approx. 6 deep x 12" wide and it generally soaks up all the water. If it were the tube seal I think I would see water all over, when I tipped the washer forward the only area that was wet was the front and center area. Is it possible its the foam shroud on the tub ring? I see a few rips in that. I also noted some wetness on the bottom of the fabric softener try (top front left corner) - I put water in this and could see it dripping below however we rarely put anything in this. Thanks
