Charge MacBook Pro battery outside the mac (with cables and voltage s)

Background:

I bought a new battery on ebay which might be defective and will probably never work, but since I'm not getting any responses from the seller I'm thinking that my problem could be resolved by charging the battery outside the mac.

Everything is working fine with my old battery in, and that I tried SMC & PRAM reset a lot of times.

Still my new battery says not charging, when you press the battery button it blinks instead of showing the amount of battery and the magsafe never turns red.

What I need to know:

Now, I think that the problem is that the battery has so little charge that the mac thinks it is broken/cannot receive charge, so if could connect some cables directly to the battery to a voltage source I think maybe mt mac can. I should have the equipment needed for this at university, so does anyone how to charge a mac battery outside the mac?

The problem you are facing here is these batteries need a very special method of charging. If you don't do it correctly they can explode as well as catch fire. The battery its' self has a CPU to control the charge as such you just can't plug in a power source and expect it to charge up.

I'm sorry you got taken here from the vendor I would still try getting your money back if you can from the credit card you used. Some will help you or offer a replacement if the product is defective (American Express as an example).

I should point out two cargo planes were suspected of crashing due to an on-board fire started by lithium-ion batteries in the cargo hold. The new Boeing Dreamliner's lithium-ion battery system (replacing the heaver lead acid batteries) has had two fires Boeing 787 Catches Fire in London as well in Boston. So don't be foolish here you don't want to experiment with these puppies as they can bite back!
