vertical & Horizontal lines on the screen

Hi there, my screen has one vertical line and one horizontal line on the screen could someone tell me if the screen is faulty or is it a hardware issue. I have unplugged the screen ribbon cable and plugged it back in and the problem still exists, thanks in advance for help and advice.

Sounds like a hardware issue. To be sure, boot up from your system installation disk and see if the issue persists.

If you can, try an external monitor to see if that too has the problem.
