16 GB possible after IOS 10.7 and EFI upgdate(s)

The following article, along side other forum posts and pages I've seen states that now, after the 10.7 update and the update of the EFI drivers for the Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010 edition, it now supports 16gb of RAM, and not just 8.

Is this true, and does it work?

Running OS X 10.7.5 or higher, updated with the latest EFI, and equipped with proper specification memory modules, (two 8GB same batch, speed, vendor-1333MHz DDR3 SO-DIMM PC10600 204 Pin) this model can support up to 16 GB of RAM.
