Replacement Speaker Still Doesn't Work

I recently purchased a new speaker module for my iPhone 4s on ifixit due to what I thought was the speaker blow out..but after replacing the speaker with a new one..I still got nothing. The speaker hasn't worked for months. Started out with distorted noise, but about a month after turning down the volume, I found that there was no more sound whatsoever. Need some help with troubleshooting a solution. I've taken the phone apart 3 times and checked the connections, but after the third time I noticed the female end of the attena connection to the motherboard, is bent..might have even had a small piece break off. Anyways, not sure what else it might be..Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have the exact same issue except that I don't see any broken pieces in my 4S. I just replaced the speaker module and everything on the phone is working fine, but still no sound.

Kinda frustrating.

rashaadlamar, possibly a broken Flex to the headphone jack. Disconnect the headphone jack flex and see if that changes anything. Another possibility would be a bad connector, but "Started out with distorted noise" makes me think it is a bad audio IC.

I was hoping to weight all options before going all the way to the headphone jack...I might have to try that now since now after replacing the speaker and dock connector..still got nothing. Thinking about giving up...So frustrating!!

I just replaced the dock connector and VOILA!!! the speaker is working again. I was having the same distortion issue before the speaker just stopped working altogether. After first replacing the speakers, the dock connector was the only other possibility for me.

I hope this helps you.
