Will not power on

Camera in mint condition but out of warranty. Tried different sets of batteries but still will not power on. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem. In my case the cause is a switch on the circuit board that is responsible for the switching on and off which is broken. The switch itself should be quite cheap but I am not electrical engineer and I have no idea how exactly this switch is called or from where it can be ordered.

I had a situation where, with known good batteries, the camera would act like it wanted to turn on and I would get the welcome cheep... but that was all. Only by opening battery door and re closing could I even get that much again. It turned out to be a faulty SD card. I pulled the SD memory card out, and presto, it came back to life. I would rather buy a new SD card than a camera!
