Lost sound, isight camera and slow usb transfer

My problem started with lost sound. Suddenly I got no sound output device listed in system information. After SMC reset it appeared to get lost after some time again. The same happened to isight camera - once it was present, and once lost. While connecting external USB HD I sometimes got it connected properly to hi speed usb bus and sometimes it appeared under usb bus and the transfer was terribly slow.

Now I am after clean installation of os x and got no sound, isight is sometimes present sometimes not and usb devices are always very slow.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Did you get your system wet or bang it?

No and no but it seems that the logic board is responsible for it. A friend of mine is trying to revive it, but I am afraid I will end up with replacement:(

Yes, all things connect to the logic board in one form or another ;-}

The USB ports on the MacBooks in general don't offer much power. So when using an external HD make sure you use an external power supply (with a MB/MBP you can use a dual USB cable plugging in to two USB ports).

With other USB devices you might find using a powered hub will help, if they pull a lot of power.

Update

Something just doesn't add up here as your HD or SSD I/O is not having problems. So the North Bridge chip is working. I suspect a cable has been pinched or your system did get wet (you may not have noticed) so the wiring and/or circuitry to the logic board is damaged.
