Just replaced the LCD and now have delayed tasks like mouse movement

I recently just replaced the LCD in my MacBook Pro using the ifixit guide. During the process everything went smoothly. When I powered up my laptop the new screen looked great.

However, now every action is delayed. Moving the mouse from one side of the screen to the other is very slow. Even pulling up the dock takes a few seconds. I cannot open anything either. Along with this is that the fan is continuing to run.

All the cables look to be intact.

Options

Do a safe boot (shift boot) see if it moves better. Go to software update to see if you need a firmware update to go with that new display.
