Damaged LVDS Socket, lost pins. Maybe Panel @ DisplayPort?

I´m such a fool. I damaged my LVDS Socket on my iMay 27 mid-2010.

can i replace or fix it? or it is possible to connect the panel on the DisplayPort?

Hi

The connectors referenced by Christoph could fit your needs - but be aware that it is pretty easy to burn the solder coating with a normal solder station. Use a 5 watts type like you would be using for SMD type boards and soldering.

Of course you could solder the wires of the LVDS cable directly to the board, but that would not be easy to do.

That would be the right guy to do the repair ;-)

I am not sure about the thing shown in your second picture. It looks like a connector, too. What seems to be broken is the isolation - so it comes to the plug if this will dangerous or not (if the plug is fully covered it should not be a problem).

But I have to say, I am not that familiar with iMacs (cause I do not have one nor had) - can you please tell me what is normally connected to it or do a picture of the whole board just marking the connector?
