Screen is flashing random colors and only works when hit.

My Wife has a macbook pro, and lately the screen has been flashing random colors (alot of green), and only works again when she hits it a bunch (probly not helping anything). it started as a small spot on the right side, now its starting to be more and more of the screen. Im assuming that means theres a bad connection somewhere, and when she hits it, it knocks it back into place, more or less. Im pretty handy, so im hoping its something that is fixable. any help is appreciated!

We call that "percussive maintenance" - in this case it's an indication of trouble with the LED/LCD itself. It will not get better - the "cure" is a replacement. Only you know if you can DIY (it is an advanced project)

If you attempt DIY get the proper tools (every job is easier with the right tools). Study the guide - most DIY go wrong when they damage parts because they remove them the "wrong" way ( pulling the wrong direction, omitting to unlock cams, yanking when they should be using a pry tool).

If it's beyond you seek help from a local shop.
