flashing apple logo every 7 seconds

I have an iPhone 3g and it wont turn on and every 7 seconds it will flash the apple logo then turn off.

But wont do anything while not plugged into the computer.

also it is iTunes doesn't pick it up

brooke, "wont do anything while not plugged into the computer." Start off by replacing your battery. Here is the guide for it. If it still does that after you replace the battery, make sure that you clean the dock connector with some isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. Check for any bend or broken pins, and you may have to replace that as well. but start with the easy stuff, your battery. Hope this helps, good luck.
