RAM Memory Module holder malfunction need to replace?

I want to know if its possible to replace a RAM memory module holder of my MacBook (white).

Because it surely is broken as it cannot see the memory any more. When i turn on my MacBook its just only sounds beep beep ... so on.

Before I took out the memory then put back again which fixed it. As times has gone by doing that frequently it has now stop working anymore as I broke the small plastic latch that holds the ram module in the holder. Is it replaceable?

Thanks

A logic board replacement will probably cost you around $550-600 at most service shops. The board is typically the most expensive component inside the Mac, ranging from $400-500 on average. You can usually expect to add about $100 on top of that for the shop's labor.

Not as a DIY repair unless you are a computer/electronics repair technician. Soldering logic board components is an advanced DIY project which requires special tools, solder and lots & lots of practice.

A local shop may be able to do this for you. The typical DIY repair (which is also a very advanced project) is to replace the logic board.

This doesn't sound like an impossible' repair but more than likely it would be cost/labor prohibitive though based on the description. Without seeing a picture I can't say for sure.

Typically when a RAM slot fails on a Mac (or PC for that matter) a logic board replacement is the "go to" repair. This is because the RAM slots are built into the logic board on the majority of computers, with certain Mac Pros being the only exceptions that come to mind. I'm sure it IS possible to replace/repair just the RAM slots but doing so is by no means standard practice and would likely be best left to a specialist of some sort.

If you are so inclined you can study the process for replacing a MacBook logic board using THIS iFixit guide.

iFixit even sells used logic boards should you decide to attempt the repair.

Note - Both the guide and parts I linked to are for the early Core Duo MacBooks, you will likely need different parts and guides based on your actual Mac's specs.
