Basically my brothers friend drop in water by mistake the my brother gave it to me and when i put the charger in it has a battery sign and a big red x on it so should i just get a new battery

craig, sine it was submerged, I recommend that you do not try to turn it on or charge it, until it is cleaned. If you do not clean it, you can expect it to suffer from corrosion damage later on. Use this guide to disassemble your phone, then use 90%+ isopropyl alcohol to clean every bit of it. Use a small soft brush to clean the board, the connectors and all cable ends. Then, once it is properly cleaned, replace the battery and reassemble you phone, then re-evaluate. Hope this helps, good luck.

after the dip in water,what you must do first is,to quikely remove the batery...afterwards you place on the sun for some minute...then you disemble and brush with an alcohol firmly...after this...it is recomended you heat with the recomended aplliance....at this stage you have a 5o/50 luck to begin a quike use....if the screen appears white after a change of battery....then you dismantle and disconnect the screen and brush the screen's port and direct...for now...any other notice...will be directed to the power icee...or will require a flash in quate....goodluck on your further notice.....
