My dell inspiron 1564,wont power up when i on it.
when i plug in the power ac adaptor, only the battery light comes on(white light). how can i fix it?

Hm ... had a similar sound issue with my HP laptop in the past - pull out the battery, unplug the power chord / adapter and then press the on/off switch for at least half a minute.
Then try again.

Hi,
Try unplugging the battery and run the laptop on AC power only and see if it gives you any trouble if not than try changing your laptop battery.
