Can I omit the black rubber and the black felt tape?

Hi,

I cleaned my fan und exchanged the thermal paste from the cpu and gpu. I did the thermal paste thing with this guide from you:

MacBook Core 2 Duo Heat Sink Replacement

While reassembling I have two problems:

1. the black felt tape from step 13 don´t stick anymore. is that a problem?

2. the small rubber from step 14 don´t stick anymore. can I omit it?

thanks for your great guides!

Those parts are there for a reason. They are insulators and vibration dampeners... you wont like what happens if you leave them out. Use double sticky tape or some other adhesive (you might have to clean the old stuff off) to keep them in place.

Agreed, you really need to put them back. You could use a spray photo adhesive (which is what I use) to wet the felt and rubber to give it new life.
