Can I BYPASS HARDWARE SIGNATURE to restore phone on iTunes?
I had problems with my lightning adapter (inconsistent charging and broken headphone jack) so I decided to replace it.
I ordered an OEM replacement from Amazon. The phone would not boot past the apple logo, so I tried to do a restore on iTunes.
Restore failed, citing error 1611. Figuring the part I purchased was faulty, I removed the new lightning adapter and out my original lightning adapter back into my phone. The phone restored and booted properly with its original lightning adapter, but I still have inconsistent charging and broken headphone jack (obviously).
So I went on ifixit and ordered the lightning adapter and a new battery, thinking that the parts here are more reliable. Today I did the same replacement, and came up with the same error 1611.
All I can figure is that the hardware signature is not being accepted by my iTunes software? To check on another computer, I downloaded iTunes for my WIndows 7 bootcamp and tried to restore. Same error 1611. How can I bypass hardware signature on a newly replaced lightning adapter in order to do a restore?
Is this a good question?
