replaced front panel, after put together picture all haywire

to put a more accurate description after I tried fixing a cracked screen on an iphone 4 for Verizon - the screen is all messed up. theres faded lines faded color you can read anything. I should also add that during installation I accidentally ripped the digitizer cord could this be the problem? thanks!

David, "ripped the digitizer cord" is possibly causing your issues. Make sure that the LCD connector is properly seated and that you do not have any bend pins or debris in the connector. If all of that looks okay, it is possible that you received a bad display. Try again, a bit more careful, with a new display.
