Replaced USB Charging port but kindle still not charging. Any Ideas?

I have a Kindle that will not charge. The usb charging port was loose on it, well not loose, it had no connection to the board. I soldered it back into place and put the kindle back together and plugged it in. No change. I further examined the usb port and decided that maybe I should try a new one. Got the part in, successfully soldered to board but still can't get the kindle to charge. I am at a loss right now and need of some help.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have tried plugging it into the computer, a different power supply and wall plug in.

Have you check the traces on the logic board at the connector for any current?

Hello!

If the repair was definitely successful then it's time to cross the kindle of the problem list... For Now.

It is possible that the charging unit (PSU) is faulty, have you tried charging the kindle through USB connection using a computer?

forget it..... the tiny membrane connectors between the screen half and the bottom part are virtually impossible to connect back properly once you pry apart the case. The device will be destroyed.
